Edible Gardens

I will meet with you and assess your sitediscover your desires, and deliver a working plan for your new garden.  Depending on your wishes, plans can range from a basic sketched out idea to a full scale plan with roughly-to-scale drawings and seasonal planting plans. Planting plans can include planting/harvest dates and crop rotation, as well as additional information as desired.

Short on space?  Don’t have a yard?  You can still grow food in containers. In fact, container gardening is an excellent way to start small and decide if edible gardening is for you!

Brown Dirt Edible Garden Design and Consultation Children

Gardening with children?  Not sure how to get them involved?  I have a lot of experience in getting kids excited about growing (and eating) healthy, home-grown food. Most children love to garden. As a bonus, they usually like to eat what they have helped to grow. Learning where food comes from early is invaluable.

Consultations can be one time or ongoing.   Perhaps you just need an initial plan to get you started.  Or maybe you would rather meet periodically to assess how things are going and develop your next plantings.

I am available for coaching on what to plant (and when), building healthy soil, plant maintenance, pruning, harvesting, and more.  Know what you want? Let me know! Not sure?  I can talk through options, based on your knowledge and site, and give suggestions allowing you to decide what is right for you.

I can draft your garden space roughly-to-scale and help you decide how to use your space to grow your own food.  A good working sketch of your space is ideal to help you plan further plantings, space usage, crop rotations and keeping your own records if you like.

Whether you want to add fresh vegetables and fruit to your existing landscape, add containers of produce to your deck or patio or rip out your lawn, I can help you come up with a design and plan that makes sense for your space and your life.

*Additionally, I am an experienced canner and home cook with a lot of ideas of how to use your homegrown bounty. Mystified by kale? What to do with your arugula?  I can help with tried & true family favorites.
